How to Train Your Dragon

Occassion: 5 Year Old’s Birthday

Cake: Funfetti

Icing: Vanilla Cream Cheese on the Cake; Dark Chocolate Wilton Candy Melts on the Cake Pops

Extras: I “cheated” and bought a Toothless the Dragon Toy for the cake topper. I just have a hard time investing tons of energy these days in magnificent fondant creations that will be tossed in the garbage. This way, the little guy who had the party got to take the dragon as a keepsake!

The Viking Helmet Cake Pops have almond slivers for horns and small pearl sprinkles for accents.

Here are the cupcakes we sold this past year:

Bow or Mustache

A friend asked me to do a cake for their gender reveal party this past week. It’s the first cake I’ve done like this. I think the hardest part was having to keep the secret of whether it was a boy or girl when she came to pick up the cake!!!

She brought me a sealed envelope with the baby’s gender in it. I waited until she was gone to open it. I already had the cake baked (they needed it that afternoon) and ready to be filled with blue or pink icing.

They opened up the cake at the party to reveal that it’s a boy!!!

Theme: Gender Reveal

Cake: White

Icing: Vanilla Buttercream

**Just for the record, I found this cake idea on Pinterest… I don’t know who the original credit for the bow and mustache should go to**
